Matthew 24:15-25 ‘So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel–let the reader understand–then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the filed go back to get his cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now–and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one, would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. At that time if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or, ‘There he is! do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect–if that were possible. See I have told you ahead of time. So if anyone tells you , there he is out in the desert, do not go out; or, Here he is in the inner rooms, do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.’
Jesus gave us a small thumbnail of what to expect with the last days. John expanded on it in Revelation with enough information to give us details on the kingdom that is rising to war with the saints, and against the King of Kings. But in this thumbnail, Jesus gave us a wealth of information. I am pouring over the news of Israel, and prophecy, and Jesus’s words stuck out at me. Many think that the above verse about the abomination of desolation is the Antichrist as a man, standing in a re-built third temple. The Bible doesn’t say that. It say’s (even the King James version) ‘standing in the holy place’ Jerusalem is God’s Holy mountain, it’s His Holy place, a place is defined in the english, the greek, and the hebrew as an area defined by space. Holy is referring to God. When the Bible refers to the Temple, it’s the Most Holy Place, The Holy of Holies, The dwelling of God. Jesus referred to it as ‘My Fathers House.’ When Jesus talked to the Samaritan woman at the well, he told her: ” Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem… Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth. Now why would Jesus tell this woman that the temple would be irrelevant when it came to worship, that we would worship in spirit and truth, and then turn around and tell the disciples that when you see the abomination standing in the temple…. Jesus knew that the temple would never be rebuilt. Or at least he knew it shouldn’t be, a part of the reason he is coming. He confirmed this when the woman said, she knew that when the messiah came he would explain everything to them. And Jesus answered her ‘I who speak to you am he.’ Jesus said He was the Messiah! This is why he was hated by so many, because he knew that the temple was irrelevant to worship after his death and resurrection. Remember the very hour that Jesus died, the veil of the Holy of Holies was torn and rendered useless. Keep in mind this was a place where only the priests could go. If anyone else entered they would die.
Now remember that the muslim’s have their own eschatology, where their messiah the Mahdi comes with their version of Jesus to kill the Christians who don’t convert to Islam. And Hezbollah along with Iran plays a big part in this. I think this will be a major part of the 6th trumpet, war. Remember this coming of their version of Jesus, would be the biggest abomination ever, and it will stand in Jerusalem (a Holy Place) and declare to the world that they have to worship them or be killed. The 6th seal and the 6th trumpet war will kill many millions of people. Jesus hinted at nuclear war, when he said woe to the pregnant and nursing mothers. And that the distress of those days would not equal anything in history or future. Now what could be that horrendous that it would be worse than WW2? A nuclear war. And we are on the verge of that right now. Hezbollah and Iran along with Hamas, Syria, Russia and China will trigger this war. It’s in the Bible. So if you think that Hezbollah doesn’t play a part with Iran your wrong. Now Damascus will most likely be destroyed at the same time, that’s in scripture also. And Jesus and John both gave us descriptions of horrific wars and tribulation and death. Jesus said those days would be shortened for the sake of the elect. But we will have tribulation like never before. This country is helping to usher in this last day’s kingdom, and judgement will come here too. Jesus said He will be with us always and He will never leave us, and He will protect us. But there is coming a time very soon, when as Paul said the restrainer will step out of the way, and the Antichrist and his kingdom will be pushed into power. It’s coming soon. I’m looking up, as Christ said, because our redemption draws near. I agree with another blogger, all the end times charts in the world will not help us. All we have to do is read the words of Jesus. That’s all we need. We don’t need charts of blood moons, or fall festivals, or anything else, Jesus’s words are sufficient. Remember Satan knows the Bible very well, and he knows his time is short, so he is putting as much deception out there that he can. God be with us.
